Traditional Filipino Fishball Sauce Recipe 



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sweet soy sauce (toyo’t kalamansi)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, combine water, sweet soy sauce, sugar, white vinegar, and minced garlic. Bring to a boil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together corn starch and 1/4 cup of water. Slowly pour the mixture into the pan while stirring.
  3. Continue to stir until the sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Serve the sauce with fishballs, squid balls or kikiam.

Note:

  • You can adjust the sweetness and sourness of the sauce to your preference by adding more sugar or vinegar.
  • You can also add some chili flakes or chopped chili pepper to make it spicy.
  • You can also add some sliced onions or chopped green onions to the sauce for added flavor.
  • You can also use this sauce for other street foods like kikiam, squid balls and more.
