Traditional Filipino Fishball Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sweet soy sauce (toyo’t kalamansi)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
- In a pan, combine water, sweet soy sauce, sugar, white vinegar, and minced garlic. Bring to a boil.
- In a small bowl, mix together corn starch and 1/4 cup of water. Slowly pour the mixture into the pan while stirring.
- Continue to stir until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Serve the sauce with fishballs, squid balls or kikiam.
Note:
- You can adjust the sweetness and sourness of the sauce to your preference by adding more sugar or vinegar.
- You can also add some chili flakes or chopped chili pepper to make it spicy.
- You can also add some sliced onions or chopped green onions to the sauce for added flavor.
- You can also use this sauce for other street foods like kikiam, squid balls and more.
